Mr Bean gets put in charge of Bank of England policy

Yep, that's right. Mr Bean really is in charge of the Bank of England's current counterfeiting run. Okay, so it's Deputy Governor Charles Bean, but it still raised a laugh in Maturin Towers, this morning.

And let's face it, with the current Keynesian madness going on in the La-La land of government policy, with its latest trick of trying to fool people into lavish spending in the depths of the worst depression since the 1930s, the real Mr Bean would probably make a better fist of it.

Which brings me onto the career of Rowan Atkinson. Why on Earth did a man so talented end up...[Ed. OK, that's enough pontificating, Maturin. Get on with some work for a change.]
